1. About Token Usage Tally

Token Usage Tally is a macOS utility that reads Claude Code session files stored locally on your Mac, parses token usage metadata, stores it in a local SQLite database, and displays usage charts and cost estimates. These Terms govern your use of Token Usage Tally and any related services or websites operated by us.

"Token Usage Tally," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Vibe2Viable, the developer and operator of the application. "You" refers to the individual using the app.

2. License & Usage

2.1 License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Token Usage Tally on Mac computers you own or control, for personal or professional purposes, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's standard end-user license agreement for Mac App Store apps.

2.2 Free & Paid Features

Token Usage Tally may be offered as a free app or as a freemium app with optional paid features. Any in-app purchases or one-time payments are processed entirely through the Apple Mac App Store via StoreKit. We do not collect, handle, or store your payment information in any form. Your purchase is subject to Apple's terms and conditions: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/.

2.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the app or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
• Attempt to circumvent any feature restrictions or access controls
• Use automated means to interact with the app outside of its intended function

3. Intellectual Property

All interface designs, graphics, original code, and other original content within Token Usage Tally are owned by Vibe2Viable and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute this content without our written permission.

Token Usage Tally reads data from files created by Anthropic's Claude Code product. Token Usage Tally is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. "Claude" and related marks are trademarks of Anthropic.

Pricing data displayed in the app is sourced from LiteLLM's publicly available dataset. That data is governed by its own license. We make no ownership claim over that data.

4. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the files on your Mac that Token Usage Tally reads. By granting the app access to your ~/.claude/ directory, you confirm that you have the right to allow that access.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your data. Token Usage Tally creates a local database derived from your session files, but this database is not a substitute for backups of those original files.

You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction when using the app, including any laws governing the use of AI coding tools in your workplace or organization.

5. Data & File Access

Token Usage Tally accesses your local ~/.claude/ directory solely to read token usage metadata from Claude Code session files. The app does not read, transmit, or store the content of your Claude conversations.

All data processed by Token Usage Tally remains on your Mac. The only external network request made by the app is a read-only fetch of publicly available model pricing data from GitHub. No personal data or file content is ever transmitted to any server.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

TOKEN USAGE TALLY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs
• Token counts or cost estimates will be perfectly accurate or match your actual billing
• Pricing data fetched from LiteLLM will be current or correct at the time of display
• The app will be compatible with all macOS versions or future Claude Code file formats
• Any defects will be corrected

Cost estimates displayed in Token Usage Tally are informational only and are not a substitute for your official billing statements from Anthropic or your API provider.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VIBE2VIABLE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or local database corruption
• Inaccurate token counts or cost estimates
• Financial decisions made based on the app's estimates
• Loss of access during app updates or macOS compatibility changes
• Any damages arising from reliance on pricing data displayed in the app

Vibe2Viable's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of Token Usage Tally shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app or any in-app purchases in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in App Store release notes and on this page. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were most recently revised.

Your continued use of Token Usage Tally after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Token Usage Tally shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU AND VIBE2VIABLE AGREE TO WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OR TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.
